PROGRESS OF A STARTUP—
At last ! …….We have the Alpha site on line to test. www.silver-entrepreneur.com . .this will take a month or too as we need to load up inhouse ideas before we expose to world markets.
The blog startup-pakistan.com will target students in Pakistan;it will offer to test their ideas for free and offer free webspace and internet marketing education. www.testmyidea.com
Once we have tested them both we can build the final Omega version with all the enhancements to induce customers.
M.Y is visiting Pakistan in August to sort out the building we will use as an office and community center.Ther is some building work to do but hopefully we can start trading in October. We aim to have video conferencing facilities to help market our internet market education program.

I might better rename these comments as , ” non progress of a startup !”
It is frustrating to wait for others to do what you can’t but if you could you would do it in a tenth of the time! So keep in mind you need great PATIENCE;
Still waiting for the Alpha site to be ready..the good news is the subscriber number is now over 5,000 so i am writing my first issue of the free TMI newsletter,which i will mail in July and see how many want issue two…
It seems the launch date of October is viable provided the new site is tested and the office is ready.
Just been looking at celeb address sites..these could be a possible area to market to ,although it will require careful selection of whom to write to..

Frustration..we are still waiting for our new website…the company moved and the corder for my site fell down and broke his arm !! So everything is delayed….
MY… is adding to the collection of computers and gradually he is building the fund to pay for transportation .
I am busy writing up the “User manual ” which we may offer free as a viral marketing product.
Also must start the first draft of our newsletter..this to our growing list of “optins” who wish to test thier idea ….I oew them an explation as to why it’s taking so long !
Trying to get help from various sources ..especially from retired business executives who might like the challenge to help us help the poor .
Other than the website being ready for testing and the manual being completed we should be ready to launch by July ..watch this space !
The office in Mian Channu should be ready on time ….one charity has accepted an offer of a computer to use in a school.
One lesson from our experiences….You need great patience and the ability to keep going no matter how many problems to overcome. Plus try and get appropriate help as early in the project as possible..note not anyone but some one who understands your vision and ethics.

The workshop we conducted at Hull Uni seemed to go OK …we have not had any feedback yet.
Just collected a batch of covers for all the reports and presentation folders..These to package and send with a covering letter to targeted organisations and individuals…when TMI Alpha is active..I have asked for it to be finished next week ..will then see how the traffic stats compare with the beta version..This is currently inducing over 1,000 subscribers per month for the newsletter which will be launched in June.
M.Y now has over 50 computers ready to send to the office in Mian Channu.He is also finding a number of good trade connections some of whom will source and supply laptops, instead of the PC’s -which are more expensive to transport.
The main work is to write up and collate information as content for the “TMI.User manual “. This will be a work manual for all TMI members who wish to start businesses and /or enhance their chances of gaining employment..we show them a presentation strategy which gives them a real advantage over other job applicants .
We hope the manual will be ready by the end of April ..We then have Mai to prepare for launch…..more ….

We are still waiting to test the “Alpha ” version of “TMI ” Hoping it will be ready for posting ideas monday 16th…
Confirmed workshop presentation to startups in the incubator center at Hull university…the topic will be ;free online tools and resource.
The Mian Channu project is going well there will soon be 40 computers ready to ship to Lahore .
M Y ..is getting very excited about going back to PK .and opening the community centre..
There are now a steady number of members joining TMI…We need now to write up a series of email letters as a pre launch news letter to inform the thousands of subscribers how TMI will benefit them ( do sign up for this free information which will be sent in April )
There is an organisation called “virtualrider.org “which helps voluntary organisations use IT effectively ..I have made an appoitment to offer our free testing service…
The credit crunch has made many marketing executives redundant ,their must be some among them who would relish a chance to prove their skills by helping launch a startup as a way of proving their abilities ;with the possiblity ,if the launch is successful they could be offered a contract.
It might be a good idea to advertise such an offer..

Just applied to rent a incubator place in the enterprise center Hull university. …There is a marketing strategy behind this..
The manager has assigned me to take a workshop in March ..This with the topic ..” free /cheap resource and tools for market research. I will give you the details nearer the time..
Meeting on friday with website designer..This is to edit the Alpha version of TMI…It’s quite an exciting time as once the site is ready i can use all the internet marketing knowledge i have gained over the past few years…more..
Emailed Nik Oba owner of www.qassia.com ..He has worked very hard on his startup with little help..it’s a great site …
Just received info on lead generation marketing from Mark V….His program is one of the best …It will be especially helpful in Pakistan to startup some of the poorer clients..
Thinking of applying to pitch on “Dragons den” .This is a TV program in which entrepreneurs pitch their business ideas or inventions to a panel of investors ..who can ..if the idea appeals to them.. offer funding in exchange for equity….will let you know if i apply..the chances of getting on are small as thousands apply……but one can but try..
Ordered some new business cards as my old Ones where for voroo….this site is still online but it has served it’s purpose ..research..all focus is now on TMI..

Met manager of the enterprise centre 12 th December and 16th January ..Hull university business school. .discussed the possiblity of being accepted on the startup incubator program.. more another time .
Explained what TMI does and how it could benefit the early stage businesses in the centre.. He was especially interested in the research i have done on Internet marketing and suggested i formulate a workshop for the startups with topics on ..free internet resources and tools ..plus traffic generation..This i agreed to do in February /March…
Also met the student recruitment officer who will help me arrange a workshop for newly inducted the south asian students ….I hope we can find some very creative minds to progress TMI …
Just come across Kim Lumbard’s website ( uges.caltech.edu ) Kim has some great ideas which anyone can use.. I have posted one idea on TMI and hope to use more.. I will credit Kim as owner..
Keep the ideas coming..dont be concerned that they will be stolen..If an invention apply for patent pending..its free …forms from patent office. The important thing about ideas is you cannot patent an idea but you can copyright it…In fact by posting on TMI you are ,in effect ,publicly formulating your idea with date of post..this itself will give you a measure of protection. .( don’t forget to print out your idea for your records )
Keep in mind that there are millions of ideas that never become anything ; This is because there is a huge mental barrier which most people never get through…. They do not EXTERNALISE their idea so it never is realised ..The moment you post your idea on TMI you have started your business and things will progress.. more ……..
